Episode Date

Episode Title Road to the Runway
Description Second season premiere. 16 Designers are brought in for Project Runway 2. Before the contestants were flown in for the show, they were sent 6 yards of cottom muslin and twenty bucks for other supplies. They received these "presents" one week before they arrived in New York. The challenge was for each designer to use these materials to put together a design that represented their personalities and design philosophies.

After arriving at the Parson's School of Design, the contestants had only 2 hours to get their models ready and their designs fitted properly. Two designers were booted in this episode.


SANTINO.
His design was a gorgeously detailed jade dress that fit his model Heather perfectly.


Heidi & John.
Both of their designs were too basic. Although Heidi's was beautiful, in comparison to the other designers it was too simple. John admitted he only spent 8 hours on his design, and it showed.

Episode Title All Dolled Up
Description Heidi Klum puts together a party for the new 14 designers for the second season of Project Runway. While getting drunk and having a good time, the designers were introduced to their next challenge: using the clothes they were currently wearing, they had to put together a new design. Diane von Furstenberg was the guest judge.


CHLOE
At the party, Chloe didn't have much on to work with so her dress was stunning. She put together a chic blue jersey dress with lovable oversized pockets.


Kirsten
Kirsten had a gold jacket and vintage brown t-shirt to work with, but she didn't do quite enough with it.

Episode Title Barbie Episode
Description This week's episode involves designing an outfit for one of fashion's most important and recognizable icons: Barbie. The designers are driven to this special icons home at the 7th and Broadway "Toys R Us". The team meats Lily Martinez the lead designer for the Barbie "My Scence" collection. The contestants are asked to design full size outfits for their "Barbie" models.


NICK
Nick utilized bold and vibrant colors to create a sexy, yet sophisticated layered skirt for his model. The outfit included an attention grabbing headdress as well.


Raymundo
Ray used an oatmeal tweed as his fabric which was completely confouding along with a very retro print. Raymundo's biggest flaw is that he forget he was designing for 16-18yr olds. His design looked perfect for a much older woman (except for the fact that it was VERY rough around the edges).

Episode Title Team Lingerie
Description This challenge involved vision and teamwork above all else. The designers are told they have 30minutes to mock up a presentation for a lingerie line. Based on these presentations, Heidi Klum divided the team into 4 leaders and their groups. The group members were responsible for bringing about their team leader's vision. Each team got $200 and 12 hours to complete the challenge.


DANIEL V.'s TEAM


Daniel F.
Daniel F's designs looked so seductive in his paper drawings that Heidi gave him his own team, but of course Daniel is incredibly slow in his actual work so when combined with his team of Chloe and Kara, who are fast paced, we had big problems. Bickering ensued and their final design was horrible.

Episode Title Social Scene Challenge
Description This episode had the designers putting together a party dress for one of America's hottest socialites: Nicky Hilton. In the fashion world, working well with socialites is incredibly important and can make or break a designer's career. The goal is distinct. A classy look is wanted but yet Nicki's youthfulness needs to be accented as well. The designers had 30min to shop and to sketch and until the stroke of midnight to get ready.


SANTINO
Santino put together a stunning monochromatic selection of stormy grey's. The sophisticated dress included a tied bodice and braid that really put it over the top. On the lower half of the dress was a layered and asymmetrical skirt that flowed beautifully while walking.


Guadalupe
Guadalupe had a basic design that was simple and clean, but all of her "extras" really made this dress a heap of busy and clutter.

Episode Date

Episode Title Window Shopping
Description This project had the designers putting together a day into evening outfit for Banana Republic. The designers were allowed to work with amazing fabrics from the Fall line of BR. Most of the designers chose a navy charmeuse fabric (which was a big mistake for some). The designers had to work in teams of 2 for this episode. When the designs were finished, the models wore the outfits in an actual storefront window at a flagship Banana Republic store. The winning design meant that it would be SOLD in actual BR stores!


ANDRAE AND DANIEL
This team won by a long shot. They understood the concept that Banana Republic wanted and did an exquisite job. Their design was very modern, yet sexy and the cropped jacket was a perfect touch to keep the dress casual during the day.


Diana and Marla
This team was booted. I thought their design wasn't terrible, but it definitely didn't take any risks and the skirt was really rumpled. This team forgot that they also needed a design that could transition into evening as well. They neglected this portion of the task and so were cut.

Wednesdays 10PM January 18, 2006 on BRAVO Episode is called "On Thin Ice" The team designs for an athlete.
